SSO Tariff

Billed by Swiss standard.

Swiss dentists bill according to the SSO tariff of the Swiss Dental Society. Each treatment item has a defined number of tax points; the point value is uniformly defined by practice and social insurance partner.

Concrete prices depend on individual findings, effort and materials used. You receive the price in writing after we have established your findings. Flat prices before examination would not be serious.

For treatments with expected costs above CHF 1\'000, we provide a written cost estimate. You can submit this to your supplementary insurance before treatment begins.

Insurance

What insurance covers.

  • 01

    Basic insurance

Covers dental treatment only after accidents or for treatments necessitated by severe illness. Routine treatments are not covered.

  • 02

    Supplementary insurance

Dental care modules from Helsana, SWICA, Visana, Sanitas and ÖKK cover part or the full amount depending on tariff. Submit your cost estimate before treatment begins.

  • 03

    EMR and ASCA

Our dental hygienists are EMR and ASCA certified. This recognition is a prerequisite for cost reimbursement of dental hygiene sessions by many supplementary insurances.

Frequently asked

Frequently asked

Why are there no concrete prices on the website?

Swiss dentists bill according to the SSO tariff (tariff of the Swiss Dental Society). This tariff is structured uniformly across Switzerland: each treatment item has a fixed number of tax points; the point value varies slightly depending on practice and social insurance partner. The concrete price depends on individual findings, effort and materials and can only be calculated after diagnostics. Flat prices on a website would not be serious.

How does the written cost estimate work?

After the initial examination with findings and any imaging, we create a written treatment plan with all planned items. You take it home, review it calmly and submit it to your supplementary insurance for pre-approval. We begin treatment only after your approval.

Does Swiss health insurance cover dental treatment?

Swiss basic health insurance covers dental treatment only in narrowly defined exceptional cases such as accidents or specific medical indications. Supplementary insurance with dental care modules (Helsana, SWICA, Visana, Sanitas, ÖKK and others) reimburses partially or fully depending on tariff. You receive the receipt immediately after treatment for direct submission.

Are installment payments possible?

For larger treatment sums we discuss installment payments or financing through established Swiss partners. The conditions are disclosed in writing before treatment begins.

What does EMR recognition mean?

The Experiential Medicine Register (EMR) certifies therapists in complementary medical procedures. Our dental hygienists are EMR-recognized, which is a prerequisite for cost reimbursement of dental hygiene sessions with many Swiss supplementary insurances. ASCA is the equivalent for French-speaking Switzerland.

What does a first consultation cost?

A first examination with clinical findings costs between CHF 100 and CHF 180, depending on effort. If needed, imaging (bitewing X-ray, CBCT) or intraoral scan is added, each according to SSO tariff. After examination you receive a written treatment plan.
