What Invisalign is
Invisalign consists of 14 to 60 individually thermoformed plastic aligners that are changed every one to two weeks. Each aligner moves teeth by a few tenths of a millimeter further toward target position. Before the first aligner, software calculates a 3D model of the entire treatment and shows the end result. You see the simulation in the second session and can have the plan adjusted.

First consultation in Bellevue
In the first consultation Dr. Toloudis makes an intraoral scan, photos and a clinical examination. He discusses with you whether Invisalign is suitable for your malocclusion or whether fixed appliances are the better option. Up to this point no treatment costs arise for you. About two weeks after the scan Dr. Toloudis shows the digital simulation of the end result and creates the written cost estimate.
Multilingual treatment
The Bellevue practice serves an international patient base. Our team speaks seven languages, Dr. Toloudis treats in German, English and Greek. If you prefer a particular language, state that when booking.
When Invisalign is not enough
For pronounced skeletal malocclusions, complex rotational movements or combined orthodontic-surgical therapies, fixed appliances or combination therapy are necessary. Dr. Toloudis discusses this in the examination. If Invisalign does not fit, we treat with fixed brackets or with lingual technique.
Retainer
Orthodontics does not end with the last aligner. Teeth have a tendency to migrate back to their original position. A retainer, a hair-fine wire on the inside of the front teeth, prevents this effect. We check it annually in the context of dental hygiene.
Insurance
For adults, health insurance usually does not cover Invisalign. Supplementary insurance for orthodontics can cover part. For children and adolescents with medical indication, disability insurance covers part of the cost in defined cases.
