Prices

Billed by SSO tariff.

We bill according to the Swiss-wide SSO tariff. Before any major treatment we provide a written cost estimate, which you can submit to your supplementary insurance.

Dental hygiene reimbursable

Our qualified dental hygienists are listed in the Swiss register for experiential medicine (EMR). Many Swiss supplementary insurers require this entry for reimbursement. Whether and how much your insurer covers depends on your policy.

SSO Tariff

Billed by Swiss standard.

Swiss dentists bill according to the SSO tariff of the Swiss Dental Society. Each treatment item in the tariff has a defined number of tariff points. The amount in francs is the number of points multiplied by the point value. The point value is not the same across Switzerland; each practice sets its own.

Concrete prices depend on individual findings, effort and materials used. You receive the price in writing after we have established your findings. Flat prices before examination would not be serious.

Materials, laboratory work and third-party services are billed separately at cost and are itemised in the written cost estimate.

For treatments with expected costs above CHF 1\'000, we provide a written cost estimate. You can submit this to your supplementary insurance before treatment begins.

Insurance

What insurance covers.

  • 01

    Basic insurance

Covers dental treatment only after accidents or for treatments necessitated by severe illness. Routine treatments are not covered.

  • 02

    Supplementary insurance

Dental care modules from Helsana, SWICA, Visana, Sanitas and ÖKK cover part or the full amount depending on tariff. Submit your cost estimate before treatment begins.

  • 03

    EMR listing

Our qualified dental hygienists are listed in the Swiss register for experiential medicine (EMR). This entry is a prerequisite for reimbursement of dental hygiene sessions by many supplementary insurers.

Frequently asked

Frequently asked

Why are there no concrete prices on the website?

Swiss dentists bill according to the SSO tariff (tariff of the Swiss Dental Society). This tariff is structured uniformly across Switzerland: each treatment item has a fixed number of tax points; the point value varies slightly depending on practice and social insurance partner. The concrete price depends on individual findings, effort and materials and can only be calculated after diagnostics. Flat prices on a website would not be serious.

How does the written cost estimate work?

After the initial examination with findings and any imaging, we create a written treatment plan with all planned items. You take it home, review it calmly and submit it to your supplementary insurance for pre-approval. We begin treatment only after your approval.

Does Swiss health insurance cover dental treatment?

Swiss basic health insurance covers dental treatment only in narrowly defined exceptional cases such as accidents or specific medical indications. Supplementary insurance with dental care modules (Helsana, SWICA, Visana, Sanitas, ÖKK and others) reimburses partially or fully depending on tariff. You receive the receipt immediately after treatment for direct submission.

Are installment payments possible?

For larger treatment sums we discuss installment payments or financing through established Swiss partners. The conditions are disclosed in writing before treatment begins.

What does EMR recognition mean?

The Swiss register for experiential medicine (EMR) maintains a directory of recognised therapists. Our qualified dental hygienists are listed there, which is a prerequisite for reimbursement of dental hygiene sessions with many Swiss supplementary insurers. ASCA is a second registration body operating across Switzerland with the same function.

What does the first examination include?

The first examination includes the consultation, the clinical findings and the assessment. If needed, imaging (bitewing X-ray, CBCT) or an intraoral scan is added. Billing follows the SSO tariff and the actual effort involved. We will tell you the amount by phone in advance on request, and after the examination you receive a written treatment plan listing every planned item.
