When a denture makes sense
If individual teeth are missing, the gap can often be closed with a fixed bridge or an implant. If many or all teeth are missing, a removable denture is the proven solution to restore chewing, speaking and appearance. Which form fits depends on the remaining teeth and the jawbone. We show the fixed alternatives on the Crowns and bridges page.
Partial denture
A partial denture replaces several missing teeth and is supported on the remaining teeth and the mucosa. It is removable and can be extended if further teeth are lost later.
Full denture
If no teeth remain in a jaw, a full denture replaces the entire row of teeth. It rests on the mucosa and is designed to hold and to give a natural appearance.
Implant-supported denture
For more hold, the denture can be anchored on a few implants. Especially in the lower jaw this significantly improves the fit and gives security when chewing and speaking. Sufficient bone is a prerequisite, which we build up beforehand if needed.
From our own lab
The denture is made in our own laboratory in Zurich. The direct cooperation between treatment and technology makes the adjustment of fit, bite and shade easier and shortens the distances for later corrections.
Settling in and care
A new denture needs some getting used to. We adjust pressure points in the first weeks. Daily cleaning of the denture and care of the remaining teeth are decisive so that everything stays healthy. Regular check-ups keep fit and function stable.
