Background
Markus Franke studied dentistry at the University of Witten/Herdecke and received his license in 2010. He subsequently worked four years in Berlin, with a clear focus on implantology. He completed his doctorate in 2013. In parallel, he completed the part-time Master of Science in Oral Implantology and Periodontology at the University of Witten/Herdecke.
In 2014 he moved to Switzerland and built up the first Resident practice on Bahnhofplatz in Winterthur. Since 2017 he runs Resident together with Dr. Fredrik Nord. Today he treats at all six Resident locations and takes over the clinical lead in implantology.
Clinical focus
His clinical focus is the prosthetic restoration on implants, from single tooth solutions to complex complete reconstructions, as well as combined periodontal and implantological therapy with pre-damaged dentition. Patients with extensive bone defects or anatomically challenging starting situations are preferably planned on his consultation days.
As founder he is also responsible for the clinical line of the Resident practices. The cross-location coordination of implant cases, the material standard setup (Straumann, Nobel Biocare) and the Resident-typical procedure with written treatment plan before every procedure are shaped by him.
